In August Alani headed to Hawaii for the IVF Work Spring Championships competing in individual and team events.

Whilst not medaling Alani show promising results across her events. 500m V1 sprint placing 6th in my heat, 500m V6 sprint and 1000m sprint placing 6th and 7th in heat but not progressing to the semi finals.
She gained valuable experience refining my technique and endurance for future competitions. At only 16 and racing in Under 19 category against world competitors up to age 19 who are from countries such as Hawaii, New Zealand and Tahiti where outrigging is their national sport, competition was very tough.

With her sparked enthusiasm from the event Alani, wants to continue competing at National and World events in outrigging. The next event is distance in Brazil in 2025 but first she will be competing in some local events in the North Queensland Zone while studying Year 12.
